Devonport is one of Auckland’s earliest nineteenth century European settlements. It has a dramatic volcanic past evident in the shape of the land, a close relationship with the sea and a long history of settlement by Maori.

The Torpedo Bay Navy Museum is the official museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy. It opened in 2010, to replace an earlier naval museum. The museum is located in Devonport, Auckland. Devonport is a harbourside suburb of Auckland, New Zealand, it is located on the North Shore.
